A recent study by the University of Utah found that the health hazards of sitting all day can be offset by simply walking for two minutes each hour. It’s a fascinating study showing that low intensity exercise had no effect but “light intensity activity such as walking for just two minutes each hour was associated with a 33 percent lower risk of dying.
So if you’re stuck at a desk sitting all day save your life with a quick spin around the office. And remember that this also applies to time spent waiting at airports or train stations. Get up and walk for a simple 2 minutes to break up the deadly act of sitting.
