Nordic Walking Open House- May 9, 2011

Last year it was the 2nd Annual North American Nordic Walking Expo.  This year Great Lakes Nordic Walkers is hosting a Nordic Walking Open House at Woodlake Nature Center in Richfield MN.  We wanted to do another local event to celebrate Nordic Walking and introduce lots of people to our favorite fitness activity.  Woodlake is a delightful spot for walking as well as just hanging out.  Just off Crosstown 62 and Lyndale Blvd this hidden gem is full of trees and soft trails.  It’s hard to believe you’re in the middle of the city.

This free event is designed for the curious and the experienced Nordic Walker.  There will be 30 minute clinics throughout the afternoon presented by the local experts from Great Lakes Nordic Walkers and Tom Rutlin of Exerstrider as our special guest.  Continuous introductory lessons will be offered with free use of poles for the lessons.  No matter when you come we’ll put poles in your hands and guide you on your first Nordic Walking experience.  A group Nordic Walk at 6:30pm will end the day, again poles will be available if you don’t have your own.

Complete details and schedule is available at www.greatlakesnordicwalkers.com

Hope to see you there!
