This is my third season in the St Cloud area and spring classes were full of enthusiastic new walkers. It’s been fun to build on the energy and excitement about Nordic walking in this area.
In the meantime there are walks going on! Liz Ogren and the Pedal, Roll and Stroll team are leading monthly walks for Parkinson’s all over the metro, the Green Fit Club with Three Rivers Park District includes Nordic walking, Maple Grove Nordic Walkers i.e. the 757 Club are led by Sher Monfore, Brooklyn Park, Edina and Fridley have Nordic walking groups all summer and fall, and Hoigaards has a weekly Nordic walking Tuesday that meets at various locations.
My classes include everything from short Introductory classes to 3 part classes for more personal attention to your technique. There are also special 2 hour Beyond the Basics clinics for walkers looking to take the next step and ramp up their walk. I am also available to teach private individual or group lessons.
We know that it’s more fun to walk with a group and so we are making an effort to get walking groups started with each class. The local groups in Sauk Rapids, Cold Spring and St Cloud are walking once per week. Check my Facebook page for locations and times. If you’d like more information about these groups please email me. The walks in the schedules are open to all walkers and if they are led by an instructor or group leader there will be poles available for use on the walk.
Liz and I have made a new commitment to lead monthly walks for the Parkinson’s support groups that we have visited over the past few years. Dates and locations are being published on the National Parkinson’s Foundation MN Chapter website, my facebook page and Pedalandroll.org.
Hope to see you out there!
