Get outside for the best walk ever! The simple addition of Nordic Walking poles to your daily fitness walk engages up to 30% more of your body's muscles effectively increasing your heart rate and calorie burn while adding upper body weight bearing exercise. In addition to a great workout recent studies conclude that daily walking has the power to maintain brain health and to renew our spirits. This class will include an introduction to the history and benefits of Nordic Walking as well as instruction on safe and effective Nordic Walking technique. The second week we will focus on maximizing the upper body work out with the power of the poles. Wear good walking shoes and dress for the weather, we will be going outside. LEKI Nordic Walking poles will be available for use during the class.
