Movement is therapy and Nordic Walking poles provide the stability and support to make walking easier and more enjoyable for persons with Parkinson’s. Using the poles promotes symmetry of body movement, better posture and a more natural stride. Presenting with the Parkinson's Support Group of St Cloud Linda Lemke, aka the Nordic Walking Queen will explain the benefits of Nordic Walking specifically for persons with Parkinson's, how to choose a Nordic walking pole and then take the group for their first walk with the poles. It’s fun, it’s easy to do and it’s the perfect activity to share with family and friends. Be sure to wear your walking shoes and dress for the weather as we will be going outdoors.
Linda will join the St. Cloud Area Parkinson’s Support Group on July 20, 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm at the St. Cloud Great River Regional Library in the Mississippi Room. This presentation is provided at no cost to individuals with Parkinson’s, their Caregivers, and the general public. The group is facilitated by Independent Lifestyles of Sauk Rapids at 320-529-9000.
